Election Info

Obama is at the Fairmont Copley Hotel in Boston. Free wireless. Students should register for the President's Club when they arrive (at the front desk). That will give you free wifi from the lobby area.

GOP in Massachusetts is having a very low key gathering at the LIR Irish Pub on Boylston St. For video and photo purposes the room will be dimly lit (maybe take some lights ?). No credentials needed but students need to be over 21 if they are there after 8pm ( even if they're not drinking). Don't think there's wifi but it's close enough to BU. MA GOP Chair will be there.

The bigger Republican react will be from the Sununu party in NH.
GOP will be at The Wayfarer Inn in Bedford ( near Manchester) Address is: 121 South river Rd. There will be free wifi.
They will let us know when they have things firmed up and we can give them a list of names for credentials. Checking on Shaheen election HQ.

Huffington Post Photo Essay Contest

The Huffington Post Contest deadline is October 29th. Here is what they're looking for:

This presidential election is unprecedented. Gazillions of dollars are being spent on advertising, campaign materials, volunteer efforts, rallies, and - in the case of the McCain campaign - clothing and makeup. Hundreds of thousands of people - if not millions - are donating time and energy.

So, what does the presidential election really look like in your community?

WE NEED YOU TO DO A PHOTO ESSAY ABOUT THE ELECTION IN YOUR TOWN. Take 10 photos of the small and grand that show HuffPost's OffTheBus readers what the election looks like where you live. Maybe there's a street corner where the signs block views of oncoming traffic. Maybe your local convenience store now sells McCain and Obama coffee cups. Maybe canvassers outnumber shoppers in your local mall on the weekend.

* Crop and resize your photos to 300x230. You can actually submit photos that are 550 x 400 if you like. We removed the image specs from the directions and are now accepting images of all sizes

* Write captions for each photo. Make sure that your captions make sense of the photos for someone who does not live in your town or state.

* Send your photos to campaigntrail@huffingtonpost.com. Put PHOTO ESSAY in the subject line. Include a headshot and brief bio if you have not been published at OffTheBus before.

DEADLINE: Wednesday, October 29 at Midnight
